The trek to Dong Valley starts at 2 AM on Day 4. Dong Valley receives the first rays of sunrise in all of India. A certified trek guide is included. In the 5-day tour, the sunrise trek gets its own dedicated morning — not combined with any other sightseeing.
In the 4-day tour, Kaho and Kibithu are combined with the sunrise trek on the same day. In the 5-day tour, Day 3 is entirely dedicated to Kaho, Dong Village and Kibithu. The first village of India, the border, the hanging bridge over the Lohit — at a proper pace.
Day 5 adds a different close to the circuit: a lunch stop at one of the backwater resorts of Namsai, an optional river cruise for Gangetic river dolphin sighting near Tinsukia, and an evening darshan at the Jagannath Temple in Dibrugarh. The return is part of the experience.

Yes — Arunachal Pradesh requires an ILP for all non-residents. The Lohit and Anjaw districts require additional restricted area permits. We arrange all permits entirely on your behalf. Share your Aadhaar Card or Passport details at least 10 days before departure. All permit fees are included.
In 4DD, Kaho, Kibithu and the sunrise trek all happen on Day 3. In 5DD, Day 3 is fully dedicated to Kaho and Kibithu, and Day 4 is the dedicated 2 AM sunrise trek. Day 5 also adds a new return route with backwater resort lunch, an optional river dolphin cruise and Jagannath Temple darshan in Dibrugarh — none of which are in the 4-day tour.
The trek to Dong Valley begins around 2 AM from your night\'s accommodation. Dong Valley receives India\'s first sunrise. The trek is approximately 2 hours one-way, rated easy to moderate. A certified trek guide is included. In the 5-day tour, this trek has its own dedicated morning on Day 4.
Kaho is the northernmost and easternmost village in India, in the Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh, right on the Indo-China border. In the 5-day tour, Day 3 is entirely dedicated to Kaho, Dong Village and Kibithu — giving the border area the time it deserves.
Namsai district has a network of backwater resorts along the river — peaceful, scenic lunch stops on the long drive back to Dibrugarh. Day 5 also includes an optional river cruise near Tinsukia for Gangetic river dolphin sighting, and an evening darshan at the Jagannath Temple in Dibrugarh.
Dong Valley is in Anjaw district, the easternmost district of Arunachal Pradesh — much closer to Dibrugarh than to Guwahati. The route goes via Dhola-Sadiya Bridge east along the Lohit valley. Dibrugarh is the natural gateway for this circuit.
Breakfast is included for all 4 mornings. Lunch and dinner are not included. Budget Rs. 300-500 per person per day. The optional river dolphin cruise is also not included.
Pack warm clothes — Walong and Dong are cold, especially at 2 AM for the trek. Layered warm clothes, jacket, gloves and a hat. Good grip trekking shoes for the Dong Valley trek. A torch or headlamp for the 2 AM start. Carry a rucksack.
If you cancel 30 or more days before the tour start date, you will receive a 50% refund of the paid amount. If you cancel within 30 days, no refund will be given. We strongly recommend travel insurance for this tour.
