The Menchukha La trek. Lamang Pass with snow-capped views. The Siyom river. A Gurudwara at the edge of India. Ancient monasteries. Six days, Bukhari warmth every night, and no reason to rush.
Day 3 starts before dawn. The Menchukha La trek takes you up to the high pass above the valley — snow-capped peaks, cloud-level views, and the kind of silence that only exists above the treeline. A certified local trek leader is included. This is the physical centrepiece of the tour.
Day 4 drives up to Lamang Pass for snow-capped mountain views and a panorama of the Menchukha valley that the trek alone cannot give. The Lamang Pass permit — which most operators do not include — is part of this package.
Guru Nanak is believed to have meditated at this site in Menchukha. The Gurudwara that marks the spot is one of the most remote Sikh pilgrimage sites in the country. Day 4 also takes you to the Menchukha Gurudwara, Hanuman Point and the Samten Yongcha Monastery.

Yes — Arunachal Pradesh requires an ILP for all non-residents. Menchukha is in a restricted area requiring an additional Restricted Area Permit (RAP) and the Lamang Pass permit. We arrange all permits on your behalf. Share your Aadhaar Card or Passport details at least 10 days before departure. All permit fees are included.
The 5-day tour combines the Menchukha La trek and the valley sightseeing into Day 3. The 6-day tour gives each a full day — Day 3 is the Menchukha La trek and Dorjeeling village, and Day 4 is a full day for Lamang Pass and all the sacred sites. You spend 3 nights in Menchukha instead of 2. The extra day is worth it.
Menchukha La is a high-altitude pass above the valley, reached by an early morning trek led by a certified local trek leader (included). Difficulty is moderate — reasonable fitness and good grip footwear are required. The trek starts before dawn and descends by lunch.
Lamang Pass is a high-altitude vantage point above Menchukha offering snow-capped mountain views and a panorama of the entire valley. It is accessible by vehicle with the Lamang Pass permit — included in this tour. Day 4 is fully dedicated to this excursion alongside the valley sightseeing.
A Bukhari is a traditional wood-fired metal stove used to heat rooms in the high-altitude guesthouses of this part of Arunachal Pradesh. Menchukha nights are cold, and the Bukhari is central to the experience. We ensure Bukhari facility in all accommodations on this tour.
Menchukha is in the Shi-Yomi district of eastern Arunachal, much closer to Dibrugarh than to Guwahati. The route goes via Bogibeel Bridge into Arunachal at Likabali, then the Siang valley to Aalo and on to Menchukha. Dibrugarh is the natural starting point for this circuit.
Breakfast is included for all 5 mornings. Lunch and dinner are not included. Budget approximately Rs. 300-500 per person per day. Your guide will recommend local options at each stop.
Menchukha nights are cold — pack thermal underlayers, fleece jacket, windproof outer, gloves and a hat. The Bukhari keeps rooms warm but mornings and evenings outside are cold. Good grip shoes for the Menchukha La trek. Waterproof jacket for the Lamang Pass drive. Carry a rucksack or mid-size trolley.
If you cancel 30 or more days before the tour start date, you will receive a 50% refund of the paid amount. If you cancel within 30 days, no refund will be given. We strongly recommend travel insurance for this tour.
